En avril 1958, en pleine guerre d\u2019Alg\u00e9rie, douze joueurs franco-alg\u00e9riens, dont certains internationaux fran\u00e7ais, quittent clandestinement la France. Ils rejoignent Tunis pour fonder l\u2019\u00e9quipe du Front de lib\u00e9ration nationale (FLN). Ce d\u00e9part, minutieusement organis\u00e9, choque le monde du football et symbolise un engagement politique fort. Leur exil marque l\u2019histoire du sport et de la lutte pour l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une fuite orchestr\u00e9e dans le plus grand secret<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le 13 avril 1958, un plan audacieux se met en place. Plusieurs joueurs alg\u00e9riens \u00e9voluant en France disparaissent discr\u00e8tement. Parmi eux, Mustapha Zitouni et Rachid Mekhloufi, figures de l\u2019AS Monaco et de l\u2019AS Saint-\u00c9tienne. Ces internationaux fran\u00e7ais sont des piliers de l\u2019\u00e9quipe nationale. Leur d\u00e9part est un coup de tonnerre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019organisation est millim\u00e9tr\u00e9e. Par petits groupes, les joueurs quittent leurs clubs sans \u00e9veiller les soup\u00e7ons. Certains rejoignent la Suisse, d\u2019autres l\u2019Italie, avant de converger vers Tunis. L\u00e0, sous l\u2019\u00e9gide du FLN, ils posent les bases d\u2019une \u00e9quipe destin\u00e9e \u00e0 porter la voix du combat alg\u00e9rien sur la sc\u00e8ne internationale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une \u00e9quipe au service de la cause alg\u00e9rienne<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipe du FLN n\u2019a pas le droit de jouer dans les comp\u00e9titions officielles, la FIFA refusant de la reconna\u00eetre. Pourtant, elle dispute plus de 80 rencontres contre des s\u00e9lections d\u2019Asie, d\u2019Afrique et d\u2019Europe de l\u2019Est. Chaque match devient une vitrine politique. L\u2019Alg\u00e9rie, toujours sous domination fran\u00e7aise, montre au monde sa volont\u00e9 d\u2019ind\u00e9pendance \u00e0 travers le football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rachid Mekhloufi, \u00e9toile montante du football fran\u00e7ais, devient un symbole. Il abandonne une carri\u00e8re prometteuse pour s\u2019engager pleinement dans la cause alg\u00e9rienne. Mustapha Zitouni, lui, renonce \u00e0 une participation \u00e0 la Coupe du monde 1958 avec la France. Son choix est un message fort : l\u2019identit\u00e9 alg\u00e9rienne passe avant la gloire sportive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un exil aux cons\u00e9quences majeures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le d\u00e9part de ces joueurs bouleverse le football fran\u00e7ais. \u00c0 l\u2019approche du Mondial en Su\u00e8de, l\u2019\u00e9quipe de France doit se r\u00e9organiser. Malgr\u00e9 l\u2019absence de Zitouni et Mekhloufi, elle atteint les demi-finales, port\u00e9e par Just Fontaine et Raymond Kopa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De l\u2019autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e, l\u2019\u00e9quipe du FLN devient une arme diplomatique. Son influence d\u00e9passe le cadre sportif. Les matchs servent \u00e0 mobiliser l\u2019opinion internationale en faveur de l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance de l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie. En 1962, avec la signature des accords d\u2019\u00c9vian, l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie obtient son ind\u00e9pendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le retour en France et l\u2019h\u00e9ritage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance, certains joueurs reviennent en France. Rachid Mekhloufi retrouve l\u2019AS Saint-\u00c9tienne et m\u00e8ne le club \u00e0 plusieurs titres. D\u2019autres restent en Alg\u00e9rie pour encadrer la nouvelle s\u00e9lection nationale. L\u2019\u00e9quipe du FLN devient l\u2019anc\u00eatre de l\u2019\u00e9quipe d\u2019Alg\u00e9rie, qui dispute son premier match officiel en 1963.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leur engagement a marqu\u00e9 l\u2019histoire du football et des relations franco-alg\u00e9riennes. Aujourd\u2019hui encore, leur parcours inspire les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de joueurs binationaux.
