Dessin\u00e9 par le cabinet Foster + Partners, il s\u2019annonce comme une structure futuriste domin\u00e9e par trois gigantesques m\u00e2ts surnomm\u00e9s \u00ab le trident \u00bb, en hommage au symbole du club. Un vaste toit en forme de parapluie prot\u00e9gera les tribunes et une esplanade immense, deux fois plus grande que Trafalgar Square, sera cr\u00e9\u00e9e pour accueillir les supporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec ses 100 000 places, cette enceinte deviendra la plus grande du Royaume-Uni et une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence en Europe. Elle incarne la volont\u00e9 du club de rivaliser avec les stades ultramodernes du FC Barcelone ou du Real Madrid. Le co\u00fbt du futur stade est estim\u00e9 \u00e0 2 milliards de livres sterling (2,37 milliards d\u2019euros). C&rsquo;est une somme astronomique pour un club qui traverse une p\u00e9riode financi\u00e8re d\u00e9licate. Endett\u00e9 \u00e0 hauteur de 830 millions d\u2019euros, le club table sur ce projet pour attirer de nouveaux investisseurs et maximiser ses revenus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jim Ratcliffe, copropri\u00e9taire du club et patron d\u2019Ineos, se veut rassurant. Il consid\u00e8re cette nouvelle enceinte comme un atout strat\u00e9gique et une \u00ab opportunit\u00e9 d\u2019investissement tr\u00e8s attractive \u00bb. Les retomb\u00e9es \u00e9conomiques sont estim\u00e9es \u00e0 7,3 milliards de livres sterling par an. Ce stade, surnomm\u00e9 le \u00ab Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des r\u00eaves \u00bb par Sir Bobby Charlton, a \u00e9t\u00e9 le t\u00e9moin des plus grandes heures du club. De la domination sous Sir Alex Ferguson aux exploits de l\u00e9gendes comme George Best, Eric Cantona ou Cristiano Ronaldo, chaque recoin de cette enceinte respire l\u2019histoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais le club estime que l\u2019infrastructure est devenue obsol\u00e8te. Loin des standards des plus grandes ar\u00e8nes mondiales, elle ne permet plus d\u2019exploiter pleinement le potentiel \u00e9conomique et commercial de Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson, l\u2019entra\u00eeneur embl\u00e9matique qui a men\u00e9 United au sommet, a valid\u00e9 cette \u00e9volution. \u00ab Old Trafford contient tellement de souvenirs sp\u00e9ciaux pour moi, mais nous devons \u00eatre courageux et saisir l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de b\u00e2tir une nouvelle maison, adapt\u00e9e au futur \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si l\u2019\u00e9motion est palpable, le pragmatisme l\u2019emporte. Manchester United doit se moderniser pour retrouver sa place parmi l\u2019\u00e9lite du football europ\u00e9en. Le projet de stade s\u2019inscrit dans une restructuration plus large du club. Celui-ci comprend une refonte de l\u2019effectif et une gestion financi\u00e8re plus rigoureuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une enceinte taill\u00e9e pour l\u2019avenir<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec ce nouveau stade, Manchester United veut non seulement offrir une infrastructure \u00e0 la pointe de la technologie, mais aussi attirer les meilleurs joueurs et renforcer son attractivit\u00e9 mondiale. L\u2019objectif est clair : redevenir un g\u00e9ant du football, tant sur le terrain qu\u2019en dehors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La livraison du stade est pr\u00e9vue dans cinq ans. Un laps de temps durant lequel le club continuera d\u2019\u00e9voluer \u00e0 Old Trafford. Reste \u00e0 savoir si ce projet titanesque permettra aux Red Devils de retrouver leur splendeur d\u2019antan.
